C. Funeral services for Margaret Irene Strickland, 73, were held Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery with services directed by Inman Ward Funeral Home.She died Monday, April 2, 2018.Born Aug. 30, 1944, in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Smith and Addie Odella Harper.She was the owner and operator of 701 Nursery for 25 years.Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Strickland Walker of Lake Waccamaw, N.C., and Angie Strickland (Mark) Shelley of Clarendon, N.C.; two brothers, Billy Wayne Smith of Tabor City, N.C., and Ernest Smith Jr. of Loris; two sisters, Magdaline Norris of Clarendon, N.C., and Faye Taylor of Whiteville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Bradley Nance, Adam Nance, Katelyn Caines and Hunter Shelley.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail Road, Whiteville, NC.
